Corroboree Billabong is part of the beautiful Mary River Wetlands and apart from teeming with birdlife, it boasts the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world. View these prehistoric creatures in their natural environment cruising past our vessel or basking on the banks of the billabong.
The birdlife at Corroboree Billabong is prolific and you get the opportunity to see a huge variety of species during your cruise, including White-bellied Sea Eagles, Black Neck Storks (Jabiru), Jacanas, Herons, Ibis, Bee-eaters, Honeyeaters, Flycatchers, Darter, Kingfishers and many more
Learn about the wildlife on the Billabong from your experienced, knowledgeable guide who will delight in sharing information with you and showing you the best the Billabong has to offer. Our open air designed vessel allows you to get up close to the animals with plenty of opportunities to take amazing pictures as we cruise around this nature lover`s paradise.
Late afternoon is generally the best time of day to see animals and our 2.0 hour sunset cruise allows you to view the wildlife during a very active period. Birds are trying to catch their final meals before flying to roost for the evening and crocodiles are on the move ready for a night of hunting. Add to this a spectacular sunset over the floodplains and it`s easy to understand why this is one of our most popular cruises.
The access road to Corroboree Billabong adjoins the Arnhem highway 1km East of Corroboree Tavern. There is a further 20km to go from the turn off and the last 4 km of the road to the cruise is a well maintained unsealed road. For people who do not wish to drive on an unsealed road, we offer a shuttle service from Corroboree Tavern that meets all cruises. The shuttle departs 30 minutes prior to the cruise times and costs an additional $10/Adult & $5/Child return. Bookings are essential.
