Corroboree Billabong is part of the beautiful Mary River Wetlands and apart from teeming with birdlife, boasts the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world. View these prehistoric creatures in their natural environment cruising past our vessel or basking on the banks of the billabong.
The birdlife at Corroboree Billabong is prolific and you will see a huge variety of species during your cruise, including White-bellied Sea Eagles, Black Neck Storks (Jabiru), Jacanas, Herons, Ibis, Bee-eaters, Honeyeaters,Flycatchers, Darter, Kingfishers and many more.
Our 2.5 hour cruise allows time to really explore the wetlands without any rush. Discover the quieter sections of the billabong as we meander through the various interconnecting channels, viewing crocodiles and beautiful birdlife. The wetlands " best locations" are constantly changing throughout the season. Having lunch onboard the vessel allows us the flexibility to select the most suitable location where you can enjoy a delicious lunch, surrounded by nature at its very best. Lunch consists of a selection of cold sliced meats and a delicious salad with optional dressing and bread available. Even though this cruise is operating in the warmer part of the day, because of its longer duration there is still plenty of opportunity to view the local wildlife. This cruise is not recommended for young children. Our guides local knowledge of the region provides you with the opportunity to view large salt water crocodiles and a good variety of spectacular birdlife in their natural wetland habitat. The access road to Corroboree Billabong adjoins the Arnhem highway 1km East of Corroboree Tavern. There is a further 20km to go from the turn off and the last 2 km of the road to the cruise is a well maintained unsealed road. For people who do not wish to drive on an unsealed road, we offer a shuttle service from Corroboree Tavern that meets all cruises. The shuttle departs 30 minutes prior to the cruise times and costs an additional $10/Adult & $5/Child return. Bookings essential.
